Enable full disk access for malwarebytes on mac os

Your Mac endpoint is displaying the needs attention indicator Warning_Filled.png. Click the indicator to see the message. If you receive the following error message:

"Your team has not yet granted this endpoint permission to allow full disk access (FDA) to Malwarebytes. For the best protection, we highly recommend that you grant this endpoint access to this capability."

Then the Mac endpoint user declined or revoked Full Disk Access for Malwarebytes. Perform one of the following options to resolve this issue. 

Grant FDA using an MDM

Remotely grant Malwarebytes Full Disk Access using a User Approved MDM. Follow the numbered steps in the article Grant Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent Full Disk Access for Mac endpoints using UAMDM.

Grant FDA on macOS 13

Manually grant Full Disk Access to Malwarebytes on endpoints running macOS 13. 
  1. On the effected Mac device, you see a Malwarebytes alert indicator tray_icon.jpg on the menu bar icon.
  2. Click the on the icon to open a context menu. Click on Current Issues.
  3. The Malwarebytes Requires Full Disk Access window displays.
  4. Click Open preferences.
  5. The System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access window opens.
  6. Toggle on Full Disk Access for Malwarebytes Protection and Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent in the list. 

Grant FDA on macOS 12 and below

Manually grant Malwarebytes Full Disk Access to endpoints running macOS 12 and below.
  1. On the effected Mac device, you see a Malwarebytes alert indicator tray_icon.jpg on the menu bar icon.
  2. Click the on the icon to open a context menu. Click on Current Issues.
  3. The Malwarebytes Requires Full Disk Access window displays.
  4. Click the button to Open System Preferences.
  5. Navigate to Security & Privacy, then click the Privacy tab.
  6. Scroll down to find Full Disk Access and select it.
  7. Click the lock icon at the bottom-left corner of the windows to make Privacy changes.
  8. You are prompted to enter your login Password to allow changes to your Security & Privacy.
  9. Click Unlock.
  10. Toggle on Full Disk Access for Malwarebytes Protection and Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent in the list. 
  11. Click the lock icon at the bottom-left corner to prevent further settings changes.
